April 26-April 29: The Park Street Players present the Broadway musical "The Secret Garden" at 7 p.m. April 26 through April 28 and at 2 p.m. April 29 at the AHS Performing Arts Center, 1221 S. April 28: Slug Fest is held all day at City Fields, 735 Farr St., as a season opener for Recreation League baseball and softball. Most teams will have a game during the day. Activities for children and food vendors will also be featured.
May 4-6 and May 11-13: RSVP Community Theatre presents The Trip To Bountiful by Horton Foote at the Sunset Theatre. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows are at 2:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students. Tickets are on sale at the Randolph Arts Guild. May 5: Asheboro in Motion Criterium and Art May-Ham are held in downtown from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. featuring high-speed cyclists, BMX stunt show, work of over 30 artists and artisans, BBQ cook-off featuring around a dozen competitors and The Party Nuts in concert at 5 p.m.
May 18: The Randolph Arts Guild holds a Twilight Art Safari benefit at the N.C. Zoo. Asheboro Elastics is the signature sponsor. Tickets will go on sale in the spring. April 28: A car show is held downtown from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Food vendors will be on hand. The event will feature antique cars, vintage tractors and bikes of all kinds. Admission is free.

April 27: Southeastern Randolph Middle School holds its Spring Fling. Rides and games will be available from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A barbecue supper will be served from 4 p.m. until and an auction will begin at 6:30 p.m.

April 29: A Strawberry Tea is held at St. Paul's Museum, 401 High Point St., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $5. Hot and cold tea will be available along with sandwiches, cake, cream and lots of strawberries. There are no bathroom facilities.
