April 28: West Bend Church, 1080 Albemarle Road in Asheboro, serves barbecue chicken dinners from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Plates will include pinto beans, slaw, roll and dessert. Plates will be $8 for adults and $4 for children.

April 28: Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 N. Fayetteville St. in Asheboro, hosts an evening of gospel music beginning at 6:30 p.m. featuring Mercy’s Well, Rejoice!, and the LeBeaus. Admission is free. A love offering will be received. Call (336) 672-0074 or (336) 314-6787 for more information.

April 29: Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 7811 Pisgah Covered Bridge Road in Asheboro, presents a program at 7 p.m. featuring Eric Horner of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.

Revivals/Meetings/Etc.

April 29: Kids For Christ of Shiloh United Methodist Church, 7394 Shiloh Road in Liberty, sponsor a spaghetti lunch following the 11 a.m. service. The cost is a donation to support the group's projects. During the worship service, the Mount Pleasant UMC Praise Band will perform.

May 4 through May 6: Asheboro Friends Meeting, 230 E. Kivett St. in Asheboro, holds its revival services. Services Friday and Saturday are at 7 p.m. and the Sunday service begins at 11 a.m. Todd Brown, pastor of Holly Spring Friends Meeting in Ramseur, is the guest speaker. Special music will be featured each night and a carry-in meal will be held following the Sunday service.

Other notices

Bible Believers Fellowship on Faith Trail Drive holds a singing the first Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

First Baptist Church, 659 S. Fayetteville St. in Liberty, holds a Discipleship Study at 6:30 p.m. each Wednesday. Everyone is welcome.

Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 816 MLK Jr. Drive in Asheboro, holds Abundant Life fitness and wellness programs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Participants should arrive before 9:30 a.m. Call (336) 625-6994 for more information.

Greater St. John Baptist Church, 819 MLK Jr. Drive in Asheboro holds food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

Hardee’s of Ramseur, 148 Jordan Road in Ramseur, holds gospel singings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Thursday.

Hardee’s of Randleman, 704 W. Academy St. in Randleman, holds singings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Monday.

Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road in Asheboro, opens its food pantry from 9 a.m. to noon the fourth Saturday of each month.

Level Cross United Methodist Church, 10142 U.S. 220 Business North in Level Cross, opens its food pantry from 8 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of every month.

Pleasant Ridge Church, 1426 Pleasant Ridge Road in Ramseur, holds a gospel singing the second Saturday of each month. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the singing begins at 6 p.m.

Randleman School Commons, 130 W. Academy St. in Randleman, hosts free gospel singings at 6 p.m. each Saturday night. Call (336) 495-5229 for more information.

Salt Box at the Asheboro Senior Center on Wainman Avenue holds a free gospel singing at the Asheboro Senior Center, 133 W. Wainman Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday.

St. Luke United Methodist Church, 169 Burns St. in Asheboro, holds Wings of Wisdom Senior Ministry at noon the third Thursday of each month. The ministry is open to anyone age 55 and above.

Stout’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 3217 Holly Spring Road in Ramseur, holds Empire Charge United Methodist Churches with Bible study from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Wednesday.

Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Ave. in Asheboro, hosts Aglow: An International Christian Women's Organization at 9 a.m. the first Saturday of each month. A speaker is featured each month.

Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church and Randolph Community College offer free basic skills refresher classes at the church from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call Jan Boles at (336) 633-0273 for more information.
