Eddie and Joyce Harrington of Asheboro observed their 50th anniversary on June 6, 2009. To celebrate, their children and grandchildren hosted a reception at The Exchange in Asheboro. Eddie Harrington is a native of Landis, N.C., and is retired from Asheboro City Schools after 35 years as a middle school band director. Joyce Poole Harrington is a native of Kannapolis, N.C., and is retired from Randolph Community College in Asheboro. They met in 1940 at North Kannapolis Baptist Church in Sunday School. They have two children, Kathy Foreman of Davidson, N.C., and Debbie Aldridge of Odenton, Md., and four grandchildren – Ryan and Emma Foreman and Adam and Taylor Aldridge.
