50 YEARS: The Hancocks

Thurman and Rachel Hancock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 31, 2009.

They were married Jan. 31, 1959, in Bennettsville, S.C.

An anniversary cruise to Nassau and Half Moon Cay, Bahamas, was taken and an anniversary dinner was hosted by their daughter and family.

Their children are Sherry H. Yow of Asheboro and the late Sandy Ray Hancock. They have two grandchildren.

Mrs. Hancock is the daughter of Verna Joyce Douglas of Asheboro and the late Tommy R. Joyce. She is retired manager of Youngs Beauty Supply of Asheboro.

Mr. Hancock is the son of the late Hurley Hancock and Lillie Deaton Hancock. He is retired from Luck’s in Seagrove.

The Hancocks are members of Bethel Church of God in Seagrove.
