Church News – Week of March 10, 2010

March 13: Farmer United Methodist Church, 6127 Old N.C. 49 in Farmer, holds a community wide concert at 5 p.m. featuring the Amazing Grace Quartet in concert. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

March 14: : First Christian Church, 1381 Church St. in Ramseur, hosts Rejoice! in concert at 9 a.m. They also will perform at 11 a.m. Admission is free. A love offering will be taken.

March 20: : Old Union United Methodist Church, 5077 Walker Mill Road in Sophia, holds a country breakfast and bake sale event from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Items on the menu will include ham, sausage, bacon, grits and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and a beverage. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 4 to 10 and free for children 3 and under.

March 20: : Grays Chapel United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of Old Liberty Road and N.C. 22 North in Franklinville, holds a Mission Steak Supper at 4:30 p.m. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for children. Meals will be eat in or take out.

March 27: : West Bend United Methodist Church, 1080 Albemarle Road in Asheboro, holds a barbecue chicken dinner from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. The cost will be $7 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. The menu will include barbecue chicken, pinto beans, sole salw, rolls, dessert and drink. Meals will be eat in or take out.

March 27: : Ivan Parker is in concert at 6 p.m. at the Asheboro High School Auditorium. The evening also will include The Greenes, Brian Free & Assurance, The Anchormen and The Hoppers.

Revivals/Meetings/Etc. :

Pleasant Union United Methodist Church:, 5929 Coble Church Road in Liberty, sponsors a Spring Children’s Consignment sale from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 12 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 13. Items include children’s clothing, toys, shoes, baby equipment, DVDs and more. Contact puconsignment@gmail.com or Erin Caligan at 685-4013 for more information or to become a consignor.

First Christian Church of Ramseur: presents A Singing Cross at 7:30 p.m. April 2 and April 3. Call the church at (336) 824-4066 for reservations of five or more.

Bamboo Garden Restaurant: on West Dixie Drive in Asheboro holds gospel singings from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Saturday.

Bible Believers Fellowship: on Faith Trail Drive holds a singing the first Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church:, 816 MLK Jr. Drive in Asheboro, holds Abundant Life fitness and wellness programs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Participants should arrive before 9:30 a.m. Call (336) 625-6994 for more information.

Greater St. John Baptist Church:, 819 MLK Jr. Drive in Asheboro holds food distribution from 10 a.m. to noon the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

Hardee's of Ramseur:, 148 Jordan Road in Ramseur, holds gospel singings from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Thursday.

Hardee's of Randleman:, 704 W. Academy St. in Randleman, holds singings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. each Monday.

Level Cross United Methodist Church:, 10142 U.S. 220 Business North in Level Cross, opens its food pantry from 8 a.m. to noon the second Saturday of every month.

Randleman School Commons:, 130 W. Academy St. in Randleman, hosts free gospel singings at 6 p.m. each Saturday night. Call (336) 495-5229 for more information.

Salt Box: at the Asheboro Senior Center on Wainman Avenue holds a free gospel singing at the Asheboro Senior Center, 133 W. Wainman Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. each Friday.

Wesley Chapel AME Zion Church: and Randolph Community College: offer free basic skills refresher classes at the church from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call Jan Boles at (336) 633-0273 for more information.
