RALEIGH — William Ronald Lucas Sr. and Doris Talley Lucas of Asheboro observed their 50th anniversary on June 25, 2010. To celebrate they revisited their honeymoon site in Niagara Falls and had a family dinner at The Fearrington House Restaurant in Pittsboro. Ronald is a native of Seagrove and retired from Asheboro City Schools in 1996 after 37 years in education. Doris Talley Lucas is a native of Concord and retired from Asheboro City Schools in 1996 after 33 years in education. They met in 1958 at High Point University. They have three children – William Ronald Lucas Jr. of Asheboro, Stephen Talley Lucas of Charlotte and Michael Darren Lucas of Asheboro – and four grandchildren.
