Wedding: Elmore-Hunt

Rachael Elizabeth Hunt of Charlotte and Mitchell Kelly Elmore of Charlotte were united in marriage on Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. The Rev. Mike Davis and the Rev. Conway Lanford officiated at the 4 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah Honea Hunt of Raleigh, formerly of Asheboro. She is the granddaughter of Bobbie Waters of Asheboro, the late Murdew Waters of Asheboro and Margaret and David Hunt of Hendersonville. She is a 2000 graduate of Broughton High School in Raleigh and a 2004 Summa Cum Laude graduate in psychology of N.C. State University in Raleigh. She currently is pursuing a master’s degree in Christian counseling, from Gordon Conwell Seminary. She is also employed as office manager at RemX Financial Staffing in Charlotte.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elmore of Mt. Holly. He is the grandson of Sibyl White of Stanley, the late Willard White, Shirley Elmore of Rock Hill, S.C., and the late Kelly Elmore. He graduated from East Gaston High School of Mt. Holly in 2000. He attended N.C. State University and is currently attending Pfeiffer University, pursuing a degree in business. He is employed as an IT specialist and sales/service associate at Standard Engine Parts Inc. in Charlotte.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Brian David Hunt. She wore a couture designer gown by “Victorian Exclusives.” The diamond white bridal gown was strapless with a modified A-line skirt, and had a café contrast at the waist with beautiful beaded embroidery on the bodice and at the waist. The back of the gown was embellished with covered buttons down the chapel-length train. She also wore a cathedral veil and jeweled headpiece. She carried a hand tied bouquet of stargazers, white mini calla lilies, blue delphinium and lime hypericum, white wrapped with pearls. The bride carried an heirloom handkerchief from her great-grandmother Honea and wore a diamond necklace from her grandmother Bobbie Waters.

The matron of honor was Christy Bohannon Gould of Raleigh, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Maria Bohannon, Mary Gray Hutchison, Victoria Szemple and Emily Barclay Wright, friends of the bride, each from Raleigh. Other bridesmaids were Samantha Sult, friend of the bride, of Kannapolis and Candace Elmore Sasser, sister of the groom, of Mt. Holly. Emma Gould, daughter of the matron of honor, was flower girl.

The matron of honor and bridesmaids each wore a WToo designer full-length baltic blue shantung halter dress with surplice bodice and shirred waist with buttons down back. They each carried hand tie bouquets of ivory roses, blue delphinium, star gazers and lime hypericum.

The best man was Joseph Elmore, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Kevin Elmore of Mt. Holly, brother of the groom; Brian Hunt of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Clint Sasser of Mt. Holly, brother-in-law of the groom; and Bruce Maxwell of Stanley and Kevin Herring of Raleigh, friends of the groom. They each wore a Calvin Klein two-button black tux, with vest and tie.

Guest registrar was Emily Temple of Charlotte, friend of the bride. Program attendant was Kimberly Bohannon of Wake Forest, friend of the bride. Music director and soloist was Lisa Blair-Hawkins of Raleigh. Rebecca Schlieman of Raleigh was also a guest soloist. The wedding director was Pat Howell of Raleigh.

The wedding reception was held at Roy Park Alumni Center, North Carolina State University, in Raleigh. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner for the bridal party and out-of-town guests at Carvers Creek restaurant in Raleigh.

Following a honeymoon in a surprise destination, the couple will live in Charlotte.
