ASHEBORO — The cashier at Southern States in Asheboro might ask you to part with an extra dollar this month, but it’s not inflation on the rise.
Southern States is supporting FFA by selling FFA emblems for $1. The “I’m Supporting FFA” campaign runs through March 14.
The local Southern States Cooperative is located at 504 East Dixie Drive. The phone number is (336) 629-3977.
“FFA is proud to step alongside Southern States in this campaign,” said Dennis Sargent, executive director of the National FFA Foundation. “Money raised will not only go to support activities at the national level but will also support the critical activities at the local level – activities that promote premier leadership, personal growth and career success of FFA members and agricultural education students.”
Those buying an emblem can put their name on it or the name of a child. The emblems will then be displayed in the store. Proceeds are split between the local FFA chapter, the state FFA association and the National FFA Foundation.
“We know every dollar collected will benefit FFA members across the area,” said Thomas R. Scribner, president and CEO of Southern State. “Southern States has a rich heritage of working with FFA and hopes the public will assist with the project by supporting the effort and contributing a dollar for a personalized paper FFA emblem.”
