Kiwanis Pancake Day is today!

ASHEBORO — Did you wake up hungry for pancakes today? If so, the National Guard Armory on South Fayetteville Street is the place to be for the Asheboro Kiwanis Club Pancake Day.

Hours are 6 to 9 a.m., 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $5. Children 6 and under eat free. You can eat your pancakes, sausage and drinks in the Armory or get takeouts. Drive-thru takeouts are available.

2010 Pancake Day Chairman Ricky Cox said the event is the club’s biggest fund-raiser, feeding more than 5,000 each year. He said the proceeds after expenses help fund Kiwanis projects such as youth sports, the Randolph County Partnership for Children, Hospice of Randolph County, Randolph Hospital, Crimestoppers, the Randolph County Foster Parents Association, Special Olympics, the Randolph-Asheboro YMCA, Zoo-City Park, American Legion baseball, shoes for needy children and college scholarships.

The Kiwanis Club is also selling $1 raffle tickets for a chair manufactured by Carolina Girl Furniture of Randleman.
