CHESAPEAKE, Va. – William Russell Brown, formerly of Asheboro, N.C., died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010.

He was a 1971 Asheboro High School graduate, 1975 UNC-Chapel Hill graduate, earned a law degree from the University of Richmond, practiced law in Portsmouth, was past president of the Portsmouth Optimists Club, past president of Girls Inc. Center for Youth and president of the Portsmouth Sports Club.
