April 12: Lunch with Lawmakers is sponsored at noon by the Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce at a location to be announced. Rep. Harold Brubaker, Rep. Pat Hurley and Sen. May 4: The Cap and Mabel Burrow Foundation hold a captain's choice golf tournament at Holly Ridge Golf Links in Archdale with a 1:30 p.m. tee time. The cost per player is $75 and includes a round of golf, golfer goodie bag, snacks and beverages throughout the game and dinner following tournament play. May 21: The 2010 Archdale-Trinity Chamber Open Golf Tournament is held at Holly Ridge Golf Links, 7933 U.S. 311. The Captain's Choice event will tee off at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $75 per golfer. Through March 31: The North Carolina Watercolor Society is on display in the Sara Smith Self Gallery in the Moring Arts Center, 123 Sunset Ave.

March 26 to April 13: Circa Gallery hosts "Images from the Green Table: photographs by a Randolph County photographer” by photographer Dan Routh. March 27: The ninth annual Randolph County Senior Adults Association yard sale and bake sale is held from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sunset Theatre Annex, 230 Sunset Ave. This year the sale will also include plants.

March 27: The ninth annual Human Race, a 5K walk/run fundraising event to benefit the community of local non-profit organizations, is held from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, at Bicentennial Park on Sunset Avenue.

March 27: Asheboro Downtown Shopkeepers hosts its first Sidewalk Sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating businesses along Sunset Avenue, Church Street and Fayetteville Street will have items available in front of their businesses. March 27: A spaghetti and meatball dinner sponsored by Kennametal to benefit Relay For Life is held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 S. Fayetteville St. Plates are $6 for adults and $3 for children 6 and under. Plates are available for eat in or take out. All you can eat is available for eat in only. A Chance Auction will be held. Tickets will be $1 each.

March 27: The Greenes host a gospel music event at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Asheboro High School, 1221 S. Park St. Doors open at 5 p.m. The event also will feature The Hoppers, Brian Free & Assurance, The Anchormen and Ivan Parker. Proceeds go to Jim’s Kids. General admission tickets are $20 and on sale at Faith Book Nook in Asheboro. Tickets also can be ordered by calling (828) 773-5997.

April 10: Spoon's Chapel Christian Church, 1880 Spoons Chapel Church Road, hosts a youth carwash and barbecue pork meal sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The meal will feature barbecue, beans, slaw, rolls, homemade desserts and beverages. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Car washes will be given for donations. Call (336) 625-1873 for more information.

April 17: Old Time Chili Cookoff is held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bicentennial Park in Asheboro. Various prizes will be given, including a People’s Choice Award. A street rod and classic car cruise-in also will be featured. April 2: The 22nd annual Coleridge Lions Club Auction is held in the Coleridge Gym beginning at 7 p.m. Silent auction items will be features, door prizes will be given away, refreshments will be available and a cash give-away will be held. Denton

April 17: Get Revived 2010 is held rain or shine at Camp Walter Johnson, 918 Walter Johnson Road. Get Revived is an annual youth rally that incorporate Christian music, speakers and more. Performers will include Building 429, Philmont, Sound of Light, 100% and speaker Justin Wallace. Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the door. Through April 10: 'New Generation of Seagrove Potters' at the N.C. Pottery Center spotlights 15 potters under age 40. The participating potters are Blaine Avery, Chad Brown, Jeff Dean, Samantha Henneke, Daniel Johnston, Crystal King, Matthew Luck, Stephanie Martin, Eck McCanless, Will McCanless, Tommy Nichols, Travis Owens, Hitomi Shibata, Takuro Shibata and Jared Zehmer. Sponsors include the Randolph Arts Guild, Ann and Monty Busick and Seagrove Creations.

May 29: The N.C. Symphony opens Summerfest 2010 with Play with the Pros at 7:30 p.m. at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre at Regency Park. The program includes Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto featuring Felix Cheng, the Symphony’s 2009 Youth Concerto Competition winner, and Beethoven’s inventive Symphony No. 7. June 5: The N.C. Symphony’s Summerfest 2010 hosts the final concert in the five-night Red, White and Blue Tour. U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Christal Rheams, a North Carolina native, joins Music Director Grant Llewellyn and the orchestra in songs including the World War II hits “Rosie the Riveter” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” Aaron Copland’s unforgettable Fanfare for the Common Man opens the program. May 15: The ninth annual North Carolina Potato Festival, celebrating one of Northeast North Carolina's most valuable crops, is held from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in downtown Elizabeth City featuring Live music, street performers, children's activities, food and beverage vendors. Henderson

April 20: The N.C. Symphony performs at 8 p.m. at Vance-Granville Community College Civic Center. Music Director Grant Llewellyn leads the Symphony in “German Masters,” featuring Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, Schumann’s Rhenish Symphony and soloist Peng Li performing Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D Major. Highlands

May 29: Mountain Garden Club's 28th annual plant sale is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Highlands on U.S. 64 at the ball park. More than 1,000 plants dug from local gardens and repotted will be for sale.

Moore County

March 25-March 28: The Palustris Festival showcases the visual, literary and performing arts in Moore County. The word palustris is taken from the Latin name of the longleaf pine and was chosen for the event because of its unique connection to Moore County. The festival is presented by the Arts Council of Moore County and the Convention & Visitor's Bureau of Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Aberdeen Area. Visit
