She was a Philadelphia native and homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Ellen Valentine Price of Asheboro and Janice Marie Carter of Las Vegas; sons, John E. Sewell of Las Vegas and Eugene C. Carter of Sylmar, Calif.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Ethan A. Craven
SEAGROVE – Ethan Alexander Craven, 16, of 4904 Osborn Mill Road, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home with the Rev. Bo Wansley officiating. Burial will be at Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church cemetery.
He was a Randolph County native and attended Southwestern Randolph High School.

ASHEBORO – Edna Lee Hodge, 80, of 400 Vision Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at Woodland Hill.
A graveside service was held Jan. 12, 2010, at Biscoe Cemetery.
She was a native of Grayson County, Va., and textile worker.
Survivors include daughters, Shirley Ann Tart of Franklinville, Linda Bullard of Seagrove, Rhonda Tart of Randleman, Denise Luther of Asheboro and Debbie Street of Greensboro; sister, Betty Ann Cook of Franklinville; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN – Stella Perdue Hodgin, 83, of Randleman, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010.
The funeral was held Jan. 6, 2010, at Level Cross United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Burial was at Centre Friends Meeting cemetery.
She was the widow of Devane S. Hodgin, 1943 Stokesdale High School graduate, had worked for Jefferson Pilot and retired from Commonwealth Hosiery.

ASHEBORO – The Rev. Carlos McKinley King, 90, of 1165 Lexington Commons, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
The funeral was held Jan. 9, 2010, at Sunset Avenue Church of God with Pastor J.C. Miles, the Rev. Tommy Fuquay and Bishop Tommy McGhee officiating. Burial was at New Hope Memorial Gardens.
He was a native of Ararat, Va., graduate of Holmes Bible College, High Point University and UNC-Greensboro, retired Pentecostal Holiness minister, served as guidance counselor at Eastern Randolph High School and as chaplin at Randolph Hospital, charter member of Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church and lifelong member of Ararat Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He was a native of Chatham, Va., widower of Dorothy Lewallen Sours, retired funeral director at Pugh Funeral Home, former member of Central United Methodist Church and former member of Asheboro Rotary Club.

She was a native of Ramseur, retired nurse and member of First United Methodist Church in Asheboro.
