Christmas will be much brighter for at least 347 children in 2009. As founder and director of Operation Red Sleigh, I would like to thank all of the people who supported this organization with your donations and prayers in 2009, as well as the sponsors that assisted with events throughout the year. I would like to thank the many volunteers who helped the day of our event and who worked many hours behind the scenes to make this year’s Christmas lunch and gift distribution a success. Without your help this huge undertaking would not have happened.
Operation Red Sleigh would like to say a special thank-you to the members of Central United Methodist Church for the use of their spacious facility in our time of need.
Thank you to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office for providing fingerprinting for all of the kids. The parents now have an identification record if their child is ever missing. Representatives with D.A.R.E. and C.A.R.E. were present as well. Nearly 750 people were fed a delicious meal provided by Christians United of Southern Randolph County, and we thank them for their continued support of this organization.
Operation Red Sleigh is a non-profit organization that was created to assist underprivileged children with clothing and toys at Christmastime. The program is funded with contributions from an annual bicycle ride in July, a softball tournament, golf tournament, bluegrass concert and donations from other organizations.
