ASHEBORO — The Randolph County Extension and Community Association will hold its sixth Soup’s On for Habitat, a fund raiser in support of Habitat of Randolph County, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 11 in the Family Life Center of Central United Methodist Church.
Habitat also will hold its Art’s On for Habitat silent auction in conjunction with Soup’s On. Local artists will create original pieces that will be open for bidding until 3 p.m. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will go to Habitat for Humanity.
Tickets are $25 each and can be bought from Randolph County ECA members, the N.C. Cooperative Extension office and Habitat Restore. Check should be make payable to Habitat of Randolph. Of the ticket price, $15 is tax deductible.
Soup’s On is a service project of ECA. They prepare both vegetable beef and vegetarian vegetable soup. Members bake broccoli cornbread and provide a variety of homemade desserts. Sweet and unsweetened tea is also included.
The event will combine the talents of area potters and the cooking ability of local Extension members to provide the community with an opportunity to help Habitat. Each attendee will take home a hand crafted pottery bowl donated by the potters and also enjoy a fellowship luncheon.
Call the N.C. Cooperative Extension at (336) 318-6000 or the Habitat office at (336) 625-1429 for more information.
