ASHEBORO — Asheboro Police Chief Ricky Wilson named Master Police Officer Bennie S. Davis as the recipient of the 2009 Officer of the Year award in February. Davis is known in the department for his unfailing positive attitude, dedication and leadership.
Davis began working for the APD on Jan. 1, 1995. He holds the rank of Master Police Officer and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division under the command of Lt. Maxine Wright. He has worked as a Patrol Officer, Vice/Narcotics Detective, Street Crimes Officer, K-9 Officer and SWAT Team Member. Davis is also currently volunteering with the new APD Explorer Post.
