Caughron leaving Randleman Chamber

RANDLEMAN — David Caughron, longtime executive director of the Randleman Chamber of Commerce, announced Thursday that he is resigning to become the director of marketing and development for Hospice of Randolph County.

"I am very excited to have this opportunity to join this first-class development team at Hospice," he said. "As construction continues on the new state of-the-art Hospice Home, I am proud to be the newest member of this special care giving organization. I look forward to this uplifting challenge as we face future endeavors of new facilities, additional services and continued quality care to our friends, families and neighbors in Randolph and surrounding counties dealing with life-threatening illnesses."

Caughron, who has been executive director of the Randleman Chamber for 19 years, has been a strong supporter of the Randleman community for years and has been active in Randolph County organizations and causes. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Randleman. He also serves on community advisory boards for Randolph County Schools and Randolph Community College.

Recently, Caughron served as District #7690 conference chairman for Rotary as 365 business and community leaders from cental North Carolina gathered in Myrtle Beach, S.C., for their year-end convention. He received the Stuart Fountain Randolph Rotarian of the Year Award in 2009 for exemplary service to the Randolph Rotary Club, Rotary International and Randolph County.

Caughron plans to remain an active Chamber volunteer over the coming months to assist the organization with its plans for the 22nd annual NASCAR Day Festival on Oct. 23.
