ASHEBORO —
With the challenge to make a difference in their community and the world, the Southwestern Randolph High School Interact Club was chartered Saturday night.
During ceremonies at Pinewood Country Club, the Randolph Rotary-sponsored youth service group heard admonitions "to think about all those opportunities for service." Rotary Director Ken Morgan of Chapel Hill gave the keynote address during a dinner meeting attended by 20 of the 40 Interact members, their parents and Rotarians from both the Randolph and Asheboro clubs.
Interact is Rotary International's service club for youth ages 12 to 18. The clubs, sponsored by local Rotaries, adhere to the constitution of Rotary International but remain self-governing and self-supporting.
Interactors, according to Rotary guidelines, learn the importance of leadership, helping and respecting others, understanding individual responsibility and hard work, and advancing international understanding and goodwill.
